Anaheim beat Vancouver 5–4 at Rogers Arena on 3 November, with Cutter Gauthier scoring a hat-trick. The NHL’s official game record confirms the completed result.

Gauthier builds the advantage

Gauthier scored on the power play at 17:07 of the first period and 18:25 of the second, then completed his hat-trick at 4:11 of the third to put Anaheim 5–2 ahead.

Mikael Granlund had opened the scoring with a power-play goal. Leo Carlsson added a shorthanded goal in the second period. That means four of Anaheim’s five goals came on special teams: three on the power play and one shorthanded.

Vancouver closes the gap

Liam Ohgren and Linus Karlsson scored Vancouver’s first two goals. The final scoring record credits Jake DeBrusk with goals at 5:30 and 9:34 of the third period, reducing Anaheim’s lead to one.

Our reading is that special teams supplied Anaheim’s decisive advantage, while Gauthier’s third goal provided the margin needed to withstand Vancouver’s late response.
