Kempe sets the direction

Adrian Kempe scored a hat-trick as the Los Angeles Kings beat the San Jose Sharks 7–2 at Crypto.com Arena on 4 November, local time. His first two goals came at 1:23 and 16:09 of the opening period; Quinton Byfield’s power-play goal at 18:38 made it 3–0 before the first break.

The reply that did not become a comeback

Macklin Celebrini pulled San Jose back to 3–1 on the power play at 5:07 of the second period. Erik Haula restored the three-goal gap at 11:10, and Kempe completed his hat-trick with a power-play goal at 15:51.

Our reading: that middle-period response mattered more than the final margin alone. San Jose had reduced the deficit, but Los Angeles scored the next two goals to enter the third period 5–1 ahead. The Sharks never drew closer than two goals after the opening period.

Byfield adds a second

Joel Armia made it 6–1 early in the third. Ivar Stenberg scored San Jose’s second, before Byfield added another power-play goal at 14:28 to complete the scoring.

The official scoring log lists three Kings power-play goals, alongside four at even strength. Both Sharks goals came on the power play. That distribution shows how Los Angeles built the win across different game situations, rather than relying on a single scoring route.
