Ottawa beat Buffalo 2–1 at KeyBank Center on Wednesday 4 November, with two third-period goals overturning the Sabres’ lead. The NHL’s official completed game record confirms a regulation-time result.

Buffalo’s lead, Ottawa’s response

Peyton Krebs opened the scoring at 14:00 of the second period. Ottawa remained behind until Shane Pinto equalised at 11:33 of the third.

Michael Amadio then put the Senators ahead at 16:51, leaving 3:09 in regulation. The official scoring record lists all three goals at even strength.

Five minutes and 18 seconds change the outcome

That was the gap between Pinto’s equaliser and Amadio’s winner. Ottawa transformed the final period from a chase for parity into the task of protecting a lead.

The sequence explains the narrow final margin: Buffalo scored first and carried its advantage into the third, but Ottawa supplied both of the goals that followed. The Senators completed the reversal before overtime became necessary.
