Leeds United beat Tottenham Hotspur 1–0 at Elland Road on Saturday, 7 November. Noah Okafor scored in the 79th minute, two minutes after coming off the bench, according to Tottenham’s official match report.

The substitutes changed the question

Okafor had returned to Leeds’ matchday squad after injury. His introduction for Lukas Nmecha at 77 minutes turned that availability update into the decisive contribution. Tottenham’s three-match Premier League winning run ended.

Spurs’ report records Antonin Kinsky saves from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Sean Longstaff before the winner. At the other end, James Trafford denied Jan Paul van Hecke’s late header.

Our analysis

The useful distinction is between selection and impact: being available did not mean Okafor had to start to decide the match. Leeds’ bench supplied the breakthrough, while Trafford’s late intervention protected it. The final score should be read alongside both moments, rather than treating the scorer as the entire explanation.

The linked match record is marked finished. The earlier confirmed-team briefing has been updated here to reflect the result.
