PSG–Troyes preview: Hakimi rested as Paris assess their options

Paris Saint-Germain host Troyes at the Parc des Princes on Saturday, 7 November, at 21:05 CET (20:05 UTC/GMT; 22:05 CAT), the kickoff confirmed in the club’s current preview.

What PSG have confirmed

A separate club statement says Achraf Hakimi will rest until the start of the international window, by agreement with the coach and sporting management.

PSG’s medical update says Maghnes Akliouche is continuing treatment after a calf injury against Villarreal. Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Ousmane Dembélé are following individual training programmes, while Khvicha Kvaratskhelia continues his treatment protocol.

Those descriptions should be read precisely. Individual work does not establish a player’s starting status, and the update supplies no return date for the players undergoing treatment.

Troyes bring a different recent pattern

PSG’s preview records Troyes’s last two league results as a 0–0 draw at Toulouse and a 2–0 win over Le Mans. Paris, meanwhile, are seeking an eleventh consecutive win across competitions.

The selection test

Our analysis: Hakimi’s planned rest is a confirmed selection constraint. The other updates describe ongoing preparation and treatment, so they should not be converted into an invented starting lineup.

Troyes’s consecutive clean sheets offer a relevant recent benchmark, rather than a prediction. The useful test is whether they can preserve that defensive record against a Paris side sustaining a much longer winning sequence.
