Fenerbahce beat Liverpool 3–2 in Istanbul on Wednesday 4 November, overturning two deficits to take the Champions League points. ESPN’s completed match record confirms the result.

Two Liverpool leads overturned

Trey Nyoni put Liverpool ahead in the 25th minute before Mason Greenwood equalised with a free-kick four minutes later. Alexander Isak’s 69th-minute header restored the visitors’ lead.

That advantage lasted four minutes. Archie Brown’s volley made it 2–2 in the 73rd minute, then Vedat Muriqi headed the winner in the 79th.

The decisive response

The turning point was the response to Isak’s goal. Rather than protecting a renewed lead, Liverpool conceded twice in the following ten minutes. Fenerbahce’s six-minute swing from equaliser to winner changed the final phase from chasing a result to defending an advantage.

That sequence is the clearest explanation of the result available from the verified scoring record: Liverpool twice reached a winning position, but neither lead lasted.

The selection context

Liverpool travelled without Ryan Gravenberch, whose heel injury was confirmed in the club’s official pre-match team news. That absence is selection context; it does not establish the cause of the goals conceded.
