Dortmund 2–1 Betis: Karetsas answers Ruibal’s equaliser
Konstantinos Karetsas scored five minutes after Betis drew level, giving Dortmund their third league-phase win.
Borussia Dortmund beat Real Betis 2–1 at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday 4 November. ESPN’s completed Champions League match record confirms the result.
Three second-half goals decide it
Fábio Silva opened the scoring in the 49th minute. Aitor Ruibal equalised for Betis in the 67th, but Konstantinos Karetsas restored Dortmund’s lead five minutes later.
A quick response with a points reward
The decisive passage came immediately after Betis had recovered parity. Dortmund’s 72nd-minute winner meant that equaliser did not become a platform for an away point.
The Bundesliga’s official pre-match coverage recorded Dortmund on six points and Betis on nine after three league-phase games. The result therefore brings Dortmund level with Betis on nine points after four matches.
For Dortmund, the practical gain is a third win from four European matches. For Betis, a run of three league-phase victories has ended, despite the second-half equaliser.
