Royal Antwerp host Lommel at the Bosuilstadion on Saturday, 7 November, at 19:45 UTC (20:45 CET; 21:45 CAT). The fixture remains scheduled.

More goals, fewer points

The Pro League’s official pre-match table lists Lommel eighth with 15 points and Antwerp twelfth with 10, both after ten matches. Antwerp have scored 16 goals to Lommel’s 13, yet have conceded 22 compared with the visitors’ 11.

Antwerp’s last five league results shown by the league include four defeats and a 3–0 win against Charleroi. Their most recent game ended in a 2–1 defeat at Cercle Brugge.

What needs to change

Our analysis: the scoring totals suggest that simply producing more goals is an incomplete measure of Antwerp’s recovery. Their defensive record has left them with fewer points despite outscoring Saturday’s opponents across the opening ten games.

For Lommel, the challenge is to carry that stronger defensive record into an away fixture. The numbers describe the teams’ starting positions, but cannot tell us whether either side will control this particular match. Watch whether Antwerp can sustain pressure without leaving themselves vulnerable when possession changes.
